Morning Hike & Panoramic Views
Start your day early with a short hike to one of the region’s scenic vantage points. One popular option is the Everest View Hotel (3,880 meters), one of the world’s highest-altitude hotels. The trail leads through pine forests and open ridges, gradually revealing panoramic views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and the elegant Ama Dablam—one of the most photogenic peaks in the Himalayas.

Khumjung & Khunde Villages

The backdrop is simply stunning: Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Nuptse, Thamserku, Kantega, and more rise dramatically into the sky, while in spring, colorful rhododendrons paint the landscape.

After crossing a suspension bridge over the Imja River, you reach Pangboche, home to an ancient monastery and stupa. The trail continues through alpine terrain, with juniper shrubs and tundra landscapes leading past Somare and across another bridge. Leaving the Pheriche trail, you follow the river upstream to Dingboche, where the trail to Island Peak diverges.

One popular option is a hike to Nangkartshang Gompa, offering panoramic vistas of Makalu, Lhotse, and Island Peak, and a chance to observe traditional Thangka paintings, intricate murals, and even relics like the Yeti scalp and hand.
Alternatively, a hike up the ridge behind Dingboche unveils sweeping views of surrounding six-thousanders and the Imja Valley, with the trail to Island Peak stretching into the distance.

Departing Namche Bazaar, the trail begins with a short, steep ascent, then follows a scenic, forested path through Kenjoma and Sanasa, offering views of Everest and neighboring peaks. After passing the junction to Gokyo Valley, descend to the Dudh Koshi River and reach Phunke Tenga, a peaceful rest stop with prayer wheels powered by water.
From here, a challenging 1.5–2 hour climb through rhododendron forests leads to Tengboche. At the top, explore the Tengboche Monastery, known for its spiritual ambiance, Buddhist art, and the Mani Rimdu festival.

After ascending the Lobuche Pass, the trail continues between the Changri Nup and Khumbu Glaciers, eventually reaching Gorakshep, where you'll stop for lunch and check-in.
