Mustang Trek
Tucked away in northern Nepal, the ancient kingdom of Mustang was isolated from the outside world until the early 1990s. Known also as Lo Manthang, Mustang offers a truly unique experience—Tibetan culture in its most authentic form, untouched by colonization or modernity.
Situated in the rain shadow of the Himalayas, Mustang’s arid, high-altitude terrain (3,300 to 4,000 meters) resembles the Tibetan plateau. Fed by the Kali Gandaki River, this stark landscape comes alive with ancient monasteries, fortified villages, and centuries-old traditions. Trekking through Mustang is ideal for adventurers seeking both physical challenge and deep cultural immersion.
This 3-week trek follows historic caravan trade routes and requires good health and stamina for daily hikes lasting 4 to 8 hours. The group experience is communal and flexible, designed for those with a spirit of adventure and curiosity.
