Begin your journey in the morning after breakfast from Kathmandu. The ride follows the main highway, initially busy, running alongside the scenic Trishuli and Marshyangdi riverbanks. For the first few hours, you'll pass through several villages and small towns before descending into the lowland Terai region of Nepal, near Chitwan.

After a short break, continue riding through the flat southern plains for another five hours until you reach Lumbini — the birthplace of Lord Buddha. Check-in at your hotel for an overnight stay.

Start your day with breakfast at the hotel, followed by a morning visit to the sacred Lumbini Garden, the birthplace of Lord Buddha. Take some time to explore the monastic zone and key landmarks such as the Maya Devi Temple.

After the visit, continue your ride towards Kohalpur — a gateway town en route to Rara Lake. The journey takes you across the Terai plains on relatively wider roads, passing through a patchwork of small towns, villages, and lush farmland. Enjoy a relaxed ride through this lowland region, rich in local culture and everyday life. Overnight in Kohalpur.

After an early breakfast, begin your ride from Kohalpur towards Manma, entering the remote and scenic Karnali region of western Nepal. As you leave the Terai plains behind, the terrain gradually becomes more rugged and mountainous.

The road conditions today are narrow, winding, and often rough, requiring careful and slow riding. While the ride can be challenging, it offers stunning views of hills, rivers, and remote villages, providing a true sense of adventure and the untouched beauty of western Nepal.

Manma, the district headquarters of Kalikot, is perched on a hillside with panoramic views of the surrounding region. Upon arrival, check in at a local guest house for a well-deserved rest.

After breakfast, continue your journey deeper into the Karnali region, riding from Manma to Talcha Airport. Although the distance is relatively short, the off-road conditions and challenging mountain terrain make for a slow and adventurous ride. The route offers breathtaking views of the rugged hills, remote villages, and dramatic landscapes that define this isolated part of western Nepal.

Talcha Airport (elevation: 2,735 meters) is the only airstrip in the region, where small aircraft from Nepalgunj occasionally land, connecting this remote area to the rest of the country. Upon arrival, settle in at a local hotel or lodge for the night.

After breakfast, take a short ride (approx. 1 hour) from Talcha Airport to the boundary of Rara National Park. Motorbikes are not permitted inside the park, so you'll park your bike at the designated area before continuing on foot.

From here, enjoy a scenic 40-minute walk through pine forests and tranquil trails to reach the breathtaking Rara Lake — Nepal’s largest and most stunning high-altitude lake, often called the “Queen of Lakes.” The serene blue waters set against a backdrop of snow-capped peaks make it a truly unforgettable sight.

Spend the day exploring the lakeshore on foot, soaking in the natural beauty, and experiencing the peaceful atmosphere. In the evening, relax at a simple local guest house located near the lake’s edge and enjoy the quiet charm of this remote paradise.

Today is a special day for exploring the stunning surroundings of Rara Lake. After breakfast at the guest house, begin a rewarding hike to Murma Top — one of the best vantage points in the region.

The trail gradually ascends through forests and alpine meadows, reaching an altitude of around 4,000 meters. The 3-hour hike to the top is challenging but absolutely worth the effort. From Murma Top, you’ll be rewarded with panoramic views of Rara Lake, the surrounding hills, and distant snow-capped peaks — a truly unforgettable moment of the journey.

After soaking in the views and taking a break, descend toward Murma Village, the largest and most culturally rich village near Rara. This village offers a rare glimpse into the traditional lifestyle of the local communities living in this remote part of Nepal. Enjoy time interacting with locals, observing their homes, and learning about their unique way of life.

Return to the guest house for lunch, rest, and an overnight stay, surrounded by the peaceful ambiance of Rara National Park.

Begin your day with a peaceful morning boating tour on the crystal-clear waters of Rara Lake. Boating is only permitted during the early hours, making it a serene and magical experience. Spend about one hour on the lake, enjoying the reflections of the surrounding mountains and forests.

After the boating tour, hike back to the motorbike parking area (approx. 40 minutes walk), and begin your ride towards your next destination — Jumla.

The journey to Jumla is adventurous and scenic, taking you through the remote highlands of western Nepal. The 123 km ride is mostly off-road and requires careful riding due to rough terrain and narrow mountain tracks. The landscapes are dramatic, with deep valleys, forests, and scattered villages along the way.

Arrive by evening at Khalanga Bazar, the district headquarters of Jumla, where you’ll check into a basic local hotel for an overnight stay.

Today marks the final leg of your off-road adventure. After breakfast, begin your motorbike journey from Jumla to Surkhet, covering a distance of 241 km through the heart of western Nepal’s rugged landscapes.

Though the entire route is off-road, the ride offers an unforgettable experience, with stunning mountain scenery, lush forests, river valleys, and remote villages lining the way. The trail is long and demanding, but the natural beauty and cultural richness of the region make it a rewarding experience.

As you approach Surkhet, the terrain gradually levels out. Surkhet serves as a major gateway to the Karnali region and marks the end of the off-road section of your journey. Upon arrival, check in at a comfortable local hotel and rest after a full day’s ride.

After an early breakfast in Surkhet, begin your scenic motorbike journey towards Butwal. The road winds through beautiful mid-hill landscapes, offering views of lush forests, rivers, and charming villages. The ride gradually transitions from the hilly terrain of Surkhet to the fertile plains of the Terai as you approach Butwal. Along the way, enjoy tea and lunch breaks at local eateries, perfect opportunities to experience authentic Nepali hospitality.

Upon arrival in Butwal, check into your hotel and relax after the long ride. In the evening, take a short stroll around the bustling city center or enjoy a quiet dinner at your hotel.

After breakfast in Lumbini, begin your ride towards Bhairahawa and continue on the East–West Highway (Mahendra Highway). The road takes you across the flat plains of the Terai through charming villages, farmland, and forested stretches. Enjoy a relaxed ride with plenty of opportunities to stop for tea and snacks along the way.

Continue riding until you reach Narayanghat (Chitwan), the gateway to Chitwan National Park. From here, it’s a short ride to Sauraha, the main tourist hub by the Rapti River. Upon arrival, check into your jungle lodge or resort and relax. In the evening, you may enjoy a sunset view by the river or a cultural Tharu dance performance.

Morning: Early canoe ride on the Rapti River – spot crocodiles, gharials, and water birds.

Mid-Morning: Jungle walk with a naturalist guide to explore the park’s flora and fauna.

Afternoon: Jeep safari deep into Chitwan National Park, with chances to see rhinos, wild elephants, deer, sloth bears, and possibly a Bengal tiger.

After breakfast in Chitwan, begin your last ride of the trip towards Kathmandu. The journey follows the East–West Highway to Narayanghat, then joins the Prithvi Highway, one of Nepal’s most traveled routes.

Ride along the scenic Trishuli River, passing through small towns like Mugling and Malekhu, where you can stop for tea or a riverside lunch. The highway offers a mix of smooth stretches and winding sections, with constant views of rivers, hills, and rural settlements.
