As a result, they would come here to meditate and perform penance. Therefore, Nepal is also called the “Land of Penance” (Tapo Bhoomi) of God and Goddesses. For example, it is mentioned that sages like Valmiki performed their penance on Nepalese soil.
In addition, history says that this land is the birthplace of great figures who spread messages of peace throughout the world. The great Siddhartha Gautama Buddha was born in Nepal. Similarly, ideal women such as Mother Sita and Bhrikuti were also born on this land. Hence, Nepal is also known as the land of great souls and ideals.

Experts say that Nepal has almost every type of climate and weather found in the world. As a gift of nature, many rare herbs are abundantly found here, which have been used as medicine since ancient times and are still in use today. According to scriptures, during the Treta Yuga, when Lakshman was seriously injured in battle, it is believed that Hanuman carried a mountain containing the Sanjivani herb, and that mountain is said to have been taken from the land of Nepal. Therefore, Nepal is also a land of medicinal herbs. In the Himalayan region, life-giving herbs like Yarsagumba and Kutki are found, while the hills also contain various valuable herbs, and the Terai is equally rich in such natural resources. Every spring season, the Rhododendron (Laligurans) welcomes guests by coloring the hills with its sweet beauty and vibrant colors. Various colorful flowers also support the Rhododendron in welcoming visitors. Colorful birds entertain guests with their chirping songs and different dances. Here, one can enjoy seeing some of the world’s endangered animals such as the red panda, Musk deer, and snow leopard. Similarly, the Danphe (Himalayan monal), a bird not found in many parts of the world, is also found here as a symbol of national pride.
